About the Badge

The Stargaze on a Quilt Badge combines the joys of quilting with the appreciation of astronomy. This badge encourages scouts to engage with the natural world and use their handmade quilts in a practical, enjoyable way, fostering a connection between their crafting skills and their outdoor experiences.

Badge Requirements

• Learn basic astronomy, including how to identify at least five constellations and the stories behind them.
• Create a small quilt or use an existing one that can be easily transported for outdoor activities.
• Plan and participate in a stargazing event, bringing the quilt along to use during the observation.
• Document the stargazing experience with photos or drawings of the constellations observed.

Badge Options

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered patch consists of high-quality embroidery on a twill backing. The patch measures 2″ x 2″. The patch has a Pellon interfacing on the back to cover embroidery threads and is intended to be sewn-on. It is not an iron-on patch.

Vinyl Sticker

The sticker is a thick and durable vinyl that is weatherproof and waterproof. Vinyl sticker measures 2″ x 2″.
