About the Badge

The Mentor a New Quilter Badge is designed to cultivate leadership and educational skills in scouts by pairing them with a beginner to teach the fundamentals of quilting. This badge emphasizes the importance of mentorship, patience, and effective communication, encouraging scouts to share their quilting knowledge and passion.

Badge Requirements

• Demonstrate proficiency in basic and intermediate quilting techniques.
• Pair up with a beginner quilter, either within the scouting community or through a local quilting organization.
• Develop a lesson plan that includes at least four quilting sessions.
• Guide the beginner through the completion of a small starter project, providing consistent feedback and support.

Badge Options

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered patch consists of high-quality embroidery on a twill backing. The patch measures 2″ x 2″. The patch has a Pellon interfacing on the back to cover embroidery threads and is intended to be sewn-on. It is not an iron-on patch.

Vinyl Sticker

The sticker is a thick and durable vinyl that is weatherproof and waterproof. Vinyl sticker measures 2″ x 2″.
