About the Badge

The Local Quilt Museum Badge is designed to deepen scouts’ appreciation for quilting as an art form and a piece of cultural heritage. This badge encourages scouts to explore the history, diversity, and craftsmanship of quilts through visits to quilt museums or online quilt collections, enhancing their knowledge and appreciation of quilting traditions.

Badge Requirements

• Find a local quilt museum or an accessible online quilt museum collection.
• Visit the quilt museum in person or online.
• Participate in a guided tour or a virtual webinar, if available.
• Choose at least three quilts that particularly interest you and research their backgrounds.
• Reflect on how this experience might influence your own quilting projects or your appreciation of handmade crafts.

Badge Options

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered patch consists of high-quality embroidery on a twill backing. The patch measures 2″ x 2″. The patch has a Pellon interfacing on the back to cover embroidery threads and is intended to be sewn-on. It is not an iron-on patch.

Vinyl Sticker

The sticker is a thick and durable vinyl that is weatherproof and waterproof. Vinyl sticker measures 2″ x 2″.
