About the Badge

The Color Palette Pro Badge introduces Scouts to foundational concepts in color theory and their application in fabric selection. This badge emphasizes intentional color use in quilt design, helping Scouts build confidence in creating balanced and expressive fabric palettes.

Badge Requirements

• Learn the basics of color theory, including primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, color temperature, value, and contrast.
• Create three unique fabric palettes, each based on a different approach:
  • A theme or mood (e.g., “campfire glow,” “spring bloom”)
  • A color theory challenge (e.g., complementary, monochromatic)
  • An inspiration source (e.g., nature, artwork, or photography)
• Practice arranging fabrics using physical swatches or digital tools.
• Apply one palette in a small project, block, or mock-up.
• Optional: Share a photo and reflection on your palette-building process with the Quilt Scouts community.

Badge Options

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered patch consists of high-quality embroidery on a twill backing. The patch measures 2″ x 2″. The patch has a Pellon interfacing on the back to cover embroidery threads and is intended to be sewn-on. It is not an iron-on patch.

Vinyl Sticker

The sticker is a thick and durable vinyl that is weatherproof and waterproof. Vinyl sticker measures 2″ x 2″.
