Binding Boss Badge

About the Badge

The Binding Boss Badge celebrates curiosity, confidence, and creativity at the finish line. This badge encourages Scouts to explore multiple ways to bind a quilt—because there’s more than one good trail to the summit. From hand stitching to machine finishes, straight grain to bias, this badge is all about trying new binding techniques and finding what works best for you.

Badge Requirements

• Learn about different quilt binding styles and techniques, such as straight grain binding, bias binding, scrappy binding, flange binding, scalloped binding, or other decorative finishes.
• Experiment with at least two different binding methods (for example: hand-stitched vs. machine-stitched, or straight grain vs. bias).
• Practice your chosen techniques on samples or small projects to build confidence.
• Finish a quilt or quilted project using one of the binding methods you explored.
• Reflect in your logbook on which techniques you tried, what you liked or disliked, and which binding style you’d use again.

Badge Options

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered patch consists of high-quality embroidery on a twill backing. The patch measures 2″ x 2″. The patch has a Pellon interfacing on the back to cover embroidery threads and is intended to be sewn-on. It is not an iron-on patch.

Vinyl Sticker

The sticker is a thick and durable vinyl that is weatherproof and waterproof. Vinyl sticker measures 2″ x 2″.

Patch + Sticker Bundle
